Life Linc Charity has been offering affordable counselling to all those who seek it in Nelson Tasman since 1974. We are able to keep the costs to a minimum because our counsellors donate their time, and the client contributions helps to cover administrative costs and expenses. We receive no Government funding and rely solely on grants, sponsors and donations from our service users.

Life Linc counselling is available in Nelson, Richmond and Motueka.
Book up to 10 sessions for Individuals, Couples and Families, or join an Ongoing Therapeutic Group.

  1. Contact our counselling manager Stephanie on 03 548 2400 or request a call back via the contact form.
  2. During your telephone conversation, Stephanie will answer any questions you may have about our service. If you choose to go ahead – she will request a few details from you in order to place you with the most suitable counsellor.
  3. We will then send you an introductory letter and a Counselling Agreement Form, which you can read before your first session.
  4. Your counsellor will make contact with you to arrange your first appointment.

Please fill out the Agencies Referral Form with or on behalf of your client.

We value your feedback and will ask you to tell us how useful the counselling was for you via a short Anonymous Evaluation Survey, a link will be emailed to you once your counselling is complete. Your feedback is essential to help us develop a better service for both our clients and our community and demonstrates to funders and sponsors that the work we do is worthy of their continued support.

  • Life Linc requests a $ contribution towards your counselling based on your income and what you can afford.
  • Payment is required in advance or on the same day as the session.
  • Your contribution helps us cover the essential costs of providing a quality service.

  • Clients who fit within WINZ Disability Allowance thresholds may be eligible for WINZ support with counselling. Please ask our counselling manager Stephanie for more information.

  • Group participation costs $240 per six week block, sessions are two hours.
  • Payment is due in advance for each six week block.

Private Counselling services in Nelson Tasman typically cost anywhere between $80 and $150 per session.

  • Any difficulties with cash flow, please contact Stephanie on 03 548 2400.
  • Non-payment of a session may result in termination of the counselling.
  • Receipts: Are available on request at the end of your last session for the total amount paid. You may be able to claim a tax rebate. Tax rebate forms can be found on the IRD website.
