“Ramsay to Renoir” - Art Comes to Life!
Come and support our Life Linc fundraiser at 2pm on Saturday 18th August
in Richmond Town Hall.

This lively and engaging talk is a unique opportunity to see figures from
well known art works ‘step out of the frame and into life’.

“Ramsay to Renoir” is a presentation created by Leimomi Oakes using models in historically accurate recreations of garments from famous paintings, from Ramsay's portrait of Queen Charlotte to Renoir's portrait of the actress Jeanne Samary.  Oakes has faithfully hand created all of the garments, which will be worn and displayed by live models while she explores the intersection between art and fashion, and the secret messages coded into paintings!  This fun and revealing topic has an added element of excitement, as Leimomi will debut a new dress!

Leimomi is an internationally renowned costumer & fashion historian. She specialises in recreating historical fashions using period accurate techniques, and in exploring the way historical events and societal mores influenced, and were influenced by, fashion and textiles.

Leimomi has presented at events at Government House in Wellington and at Old Government House in Sydney,
as well as at numerous New Zealand museums, including Te Papa.

Tickets cost $26. There is a raffle and cream teas will be available for a gold coin donation.
All proceeds go to provide low cost counselling for couples and individuals in Nelson & Tasman.
Tickets are available through TicketDirect, the Theatre Royal, Richmond Mall & Nelson i-Site.
